Remember Fortune's Fool's wildly popular first release The Prelude, the smooth-drinking rye whiskey that took the whiskey world by storm? Well, get ready for The Overture! Fortune's Fool is back with a brand-new release – The Overture. Building on the success of the Prelude, this next rye whiskey delivers the same mellow, easy-drinking sip with a bold and unique twist that'll tantalize your taste buds.
The Overture Makes a Grand Entrance
The Overture isn't just another curtain call, this release boasts a 30-barrel dump, a significant leap from the Prelude's 10-barrel batch. This not only signifies the growing demand for Fortune's Fool but also allows for more complexity and a refined final product. With roughly 6,800 bottles produced, The Overture is poised to make a big splash in the rye whiskey world.
The Prelude was aged 2 years and 8 months, the Overture benefits from an additional seven months in the barrel. This extra time allows the flavors to mature beautifully, resulting in a richer and more complex profile. Juliet even sheds light on their unique aeration process, explaining, "We dumped on a Monday, but didn't bottle until Thursday, allowing it to aerate and marry a bit," further contributing to the whiskey's smoothness.
